SEATTLE, WA — According to an analysis of Nielsen research, those living outside of Seattle city limits are far more likely to identify as "very interested" in NFL football. The Seattle Times reports love for the Seahawks is strongest in South King County, at 35 percent, followed by the Eastside at 31 percent, and Pierce and Snohomish counties at 30 percent.

In Seattle, Shoreline, and Vashon Island, that number is just 19 percent. The findings are based on a survey of 4,000 people in Western Washington between 2018 and 2019.

The newspaper reports the level of interest typically increased or decreased based on how well the Seahawks played. The team with the highest level of consistent fans in their city is the Green Bay Packers.
