SEATTLE, WA — According to a new report published in the Seattle Times, a combined 52 percent of adults in King and Snohomish counties now identify as Democrats or "Democratic-leaning." A Nielsen survey, conducted two times a year, found The Seattle-Bellevue-Everett metro now ranks among the top 10 most liberal in the country, one point ahead of Los Angeles, and 13 points behind San Francisco.
The Times reports those surveyed included 4,000 adults, ages 18 and up, regardless of whether they were registered voters. Earlier surveys found Democratic support closer to 48 and 49 percent.
According to the newspaper, King County pushes the average up, with 55 percent of adults indicating Democratic support. In Snohomish County, that number drops 11 points to 44 percent. Pierce County had the lowest Democratic support among Washington's three largest counties, coming in at just 39 percent.
