Rough Traffic Weekend Ahead In Puget Sound
From I-5 express lane closures to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, traffic could be worse than usual this weekend.

SEATTLE, WA - Maybe consider taking the bus this weekend? Multiple construction projects and events around Puget Sound this weekend might make traffic worse than usual.
Here are some of the biggest projects and events happening this weekend, according to WSDOT and SDOT:
I-5 in Seattle - The I-5 express lanes will close until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday for maintenance work. The lanes will open southbound after the closure. The I-5 express lanes will remain closed until 11 a.m. on Sunday. The lanes will open southbound after the closure. The express lanes usually open each morning at 5 a.m.

March for Science - This rally drew about 1,000 people in 2017. A protest march will leave Capitol Hill at 11:30 a.m. and head through downtown Seattle along 4th Avenue all the way to the Seattle Center.
Seattle Mariners - The Mariners are hosting the Oakland A's this weekend. The Saturday game starts at 6:10 p.m., the Sunday game starts at 1:10 p.m. Each game is expected to draw about 30,000 people

I-90 in Bellevue - From 5:30 a.m. Saturday to 9 p.m. Sunday the I-90 off-ramps to Bellevue Way will be closed.
Renton - The Seahawks 12K/5K kicks off Sunday morning at 6:30 a.m. The race will close Lake Washington Boulevard and streets around The Landing shopping center. Here's the route map.
Tacoma - The PBR: Unleash the Beast bull riding event will be going on Saturday and Sunday at the Tacoma Dome.
Skagit Valley Tulip Festival - The famous tulip festival continues this weekend and will likely cause delays along I-5 around Mt. Vernon.
