Sawant Endorses Oliver For Mayor, Grant For City Council
Seattle Councilwoman Kshama Sawant announced her picks for the 2017 election on Wednesday.

SEATTLE, WA - Seattle Councilwoman Kshama Sawant announced Wednesday morning that she would endorse candidates Nikkita Oliver for mayor and Jon Grant for City Council. Oliver, an attorney and community activist, is running for mayor under the banner of the People's Party. Grant is running for an at-large council seat left open by Councilman Tim Burgess, who isn't seeking reelection in 2017.

Sawant endorsed Oliver and Grant outside a community center at Yesler Terrace, which is being redeveloped by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen's Vulcan development company.
