Seattle Area Weekend Construction: Here's What To Avoid
Avoid these delays and closures along I-5, SR 18, and along SR 99 for the weekend of May 10 - 12.

SEATTLE, WA — Construction season is in full swing, and this weekend will be the first really nice weekend of the spring-summer season that means traffic delays, either due to volume or roadwork.
Here are the construction projects happening this weekend, according to WSDOT:
I-5 Downtown Seattle

Friday to Sunday, 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. - The 6th Avenue/James Street on-ramp to southbound I-5 will be closed. The Edgar Martinez Drive/4th Avenue South on-ramp to southbound I-5 will be closed. The Spring Street on-ramp to southbound I-5 will be closed.
Friday to Sunday, 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. - From 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. (nightly) - All lanes of the southbound I-5 collector-distributor at Airport Way will be closed. During this time, all traffic will exit at Airport Way and follow the to access southbound I-5.

SR 99 Tunnel
Friday at 11 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m. - All lanes of the northbound SR 99 tunnel will be closed.
I-5 Ship Canal Bridge
Saturday 3 a.m. to 11 a.m. - The two right lanes of southbound I-5 across the Ship Canal Bridge will be closed, as will the Northeast 45th Street on-ramp to southbound I-5.
SR 18 (Tiger Mountain/Hobart area)
Sunday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. - Drivers will use the Issaquah-Hobart Road off/on ramps to bypass a full closure of the highway.
Monday at 5 a.m. - For the next 65 days, SR 18 will continue as a single lane westbound over the Issaquah-Hobart Road bridge. This area is usually two lanes.
