Seattle-Bound Delta Flight Lands On Remote Alaska Island
The Delta flight landed on Shemya Island due to engine problems, according to the airline.

SEATTLE, WA - A Delta flight flying from Beijing to Seattle made an emergency landing on a remote Alaska island on Monday. The plane was experiencing engine trouble, according to reports.
The flight with 194 passengers onboard landed on Shemya Island about 1,000 from mainland Alaska. A new plane was sent to the island to pick up the passengers.
The plane was a Boeing 767-300ER, according to reports. Shemya Island, part of the Aleutian Islands, is home to a 10,000-foot runway used as a Navy refueling station and as an emergency landing spot for commercial flights. The new flight from Alaska was expected to arrive at Sea-Tac at around 9 p.m.
