SEATTLE, WA — Two influential groups in Seattle politics released City Council endorsements on Wednesday ahead of the August primary election.

The Seattle Chamber of Commerce's Civic Alliance for a Sound Economy (CASE) PAC endorsed in all seven races, but only backed one of three incumbents in the race. CASE made dual endorsements in the district 6 and 7 races. The Sierra Club, meanwhile, made endorsements in only six races, but did not mention District 1, where Lisa Herbold is running for reelection.

CASE has a significant amount of money in its war chest for the 2019 elections. As of Wednesday, the PAC had raised about $600,000 so far in 2019, but had not given any contributions yet, according to the state Public Disclosure Commission. Some of CASE's biggest donors were Amazon ($200,000), Expedia ($50,000), the Commercial Real Estate Development Association ($30,000), and Vulcan Inc. ($50,000).
