Seattle Chef Edouardo Jordan Wins Two 2018 James Beard Awards

Jordan's JuneBaby was named best new restaurant, and he was also named the best chef in the northwest.

SEATTLE, WA - Seattle chef Edouardo Jordan won big at the 2018 James Beard Awards, which were announced Monday in Chicago. Jordan's JuneBaby won best new restaurant, and Jordan was named best chef in the northwest for his work at Salare.

JuneBaby, located in the Ravenna neighborhood, specializes in southern food classics, everything from grits to gumbo and chicken fried steak. Salare pulls inspiration Italy and the Caribbean and adds Pacific Northwest touches - like a cheese dish featuring Washington State University's famed Cougar Gold.

Edouardo, originally from St. Petersburg, Fla., is the first African-American to win a James Beard for best new restaurant. Both Jordan's restaurants have received rave reviews, with JuneBaby named by Food & Wine on of the best new U.S. restaurants for 2018.
