Seattle Club Where Man Was Shot Has License Suspended

Studio Seven was the scene of a shooting last month. Their license has now been suspended for 180 days. That could lead to a permanent loss.

SEATTLE, WA – The Studio Seven nightclub in Sodo, the scene of a shooting last month, has had their liquor license suspended for 180-days. That could lead to a permanent loss of their ability to sell alcohol.

The state's Liquor and Cannabis Control Board issued the emergency suspension, charing that insufficient security at the club is creating a public safety threat.

A 27-year-old man was killed inside the club early on the morning of February 11 as Studio Seven hosted a hip-hop show featuring Nef the Pharoag, OMB Peezy, and others.

"The licensee had been counseled on previous occasions that insufficient security posed a serious threat to the safety of their customers," the board said in a statement.

"In coming to this decision the Board also considered a November 2017 disorderly conduct incident requiring 28 police officers to quell."
