Seattle Cops Commandeer Jet Ski, Rescue 2 Kayakers
"How do I start it?" one of the officers asks the jet ski owner before rocketing off across Lake Washington.
SEATTLE, WA - When two kayakers in distress called 911 Wednesday night, Seattle police were among the first on the scene - and they literally did everything they could to make the rescue.
Officers Morgan Irwin (who is also a state Representative Enumclaw) and Mark Rawlins spotted a person with a jet ski near the shore of Lake Washington. The jet skier gave her vessel to the two cops, and they sped out onto the lake toward the kayakers.
After dropping a life vest with the first kayaker, the officers raced about 100 yards away to the other one. The man is clearly in distress, breathing heavily and in near-panic.
