SEATTLE, WA — A man accused of raping a woman in his car after pretending to be her rideshare driver has been jailed. The 34-year-old Tukwila man turned himself in on Wednesday, according to the King County Sheriff's Office.

The attack happened on Dec. 16 when the woman got into a rideshare vehicle after leaving a bar in Ballard. During the ride to her house, the man pulled the car over in White Center and assaulted her.

"She went outside to catch her rideshare home that a friend had ordered for her. A man in a black vehicle, possibly a Dodge Charger, led her to believe he was her rideshare driver," King County Sheriff Sgt. Ryan Abbott said in a statement.
