Man Dies In Seattle After Bike Collision In Port Townsend

The 74-year-old man's "bicycle struck a vehicle," according to Port Townsend police.

PORT TOWNSEND, WA - A 74-year-old man from died in Seattle after a bicycle collision Saturday in Port Townsend, according to authorities. Marcus Henthorn died of multiple blunt force injuries and his death was ruled an accident, according to the King County Medical Examiner.

Henthorn was bicycling along 19th Street Saturday around 2 p.m. traveling eastbound when he was hit. The car reportedly took a right turn down a side street, crossing in front of Henthorn and another bicyclist. Henthorn reportedly applied his brakes and flew over the handlebars and onto the pavement.

The stretch of 19th Street where the collision occurred does have a bike lane. Port Townsend police spokeswoman Keppie Keplinger told Patch Monday that the incident is still under investigation.
