Seattle Neighbors Raising Money For Woman Killed During Robbery
My-Linh "Lily" Nguyen died Dec. 15 after being shot during a street robbery. Her neighbors are trying to help the family recover.

SEATTLE, WA - The neighbors of a woman who died after a robbery in South Seattle on Dec. 15 have started a fundraiser for her family to help them recover from the tragedy.
My-Linh "Lily" Nguyen, 45, died on Dec. 15 after being shot multiple times during a robbery outside of her home. Her 15-year-old son heard the shots, and her husband found her outside their home. Nguyen was on her way home from job downtown as a manicurist when the robbery happened, according to reports.

The goal of the fundraiser is $80,000, but the campaign had raised only about 10 percent of that as of Thursday morning.
"We are her neighbors and wanted to help her family in this terrible time. The Hillman City and Columbia City communities would like to reach out and ask for help for this family," wrote Yukiko Sodos on the GoFundMe page for the family.

The shooting happened near the corner of South Warsaw Street and 39th Avenue South, a few blocks south of a busy commercial area at Graham Street. Police were still looking for a suspect in the shooting.
