Seattle Police Investigating Killing In Licton Springs

A deadly shooting early Thursday morning was at leas the third homicide in the Licton Springs area since May.

SEATTLE, WA — Seattle police are investigating another homicide in the Licton Springs area after a 34-year-old man was shot and killed early Thursday morning along Aurora Avenue.

The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. near North 102nd Street. The victim, Lloyd T. Whitney, was shot in the head and died at the scene. The killer was not immediately located, police said.

On July 9, John Dale III, 28, was targeted and killed by two shooters. He was shot while walking along North 96th Street between Midvale and Aurora Avenue, according to police.

On May 29 at around 5 a.m., Steven Sande, 47, was shot to death near his RV parked at the intersection of Midvale and North 96th during a robbery. Two brothers, Adrien W. Diaz, 32, and William A. Diaz, 26, were arrested and charged with first-degree murder in Sande's death on July 1.
