Seattle Police Officer Arrested On Drug Trafficking Charge: U.S. Attorney

The officer was arrested on Saturday, according to Seattle police.

SEATTLE, WA - A Seattle police officer was arrested Saturday in connection with a drug investigation. The arrest was made during an investigation by Seattle police and the FBI, DEA, and U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Seattle police did not release any further details about the nature of the arrest.

Through a spokesperson, U.S. Attorney Annette L. Hayes said in a statement that the Seattle police officer was one of four people arrested Saturday on drug trafficking charges.

"Four people are under arrest today on drug trafficking charges," Hayes said in the statement. "One of those under arrest is a Seattle Police Officer. I expect that all four will make their initial appearances in United States District Court on Monday at which time additional information will be made available about the charges. In the meantime, on behalf of the FBI, DEA, HSI and my office, I want to thank Seattle Police Department Chief Kathleen O'Toole and her staff for their cooperation and assistance with this investigation."

Seattle police, working in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration and Department of Homeland Security arrested a Seattle police officer on Saturday as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
The officer was immediately placed on administrative leave without pay.
As this is an ongoing investigation, further information will be provided by the US Attorney’s Office on Monday.
