Reliable internet access has become essential for work, education, entertainment, and everyday life. Now, Seattle residents have a new option for getting connected faster.

Comcast's Xfinity recently launched same-day WiFi equipment delivery for eligible new internet customers in Seattle. The service allows customers to receive an Xfinity Gateway within hours of signing up and begin using their home internet service the same day.

The announcement comes as the region continues to attract new residents and experience population growth. For many people moving into a new home or apartment, internet service is one of the first necessities they need to establish.

Until now, new customers often had to wait several days for equipment to arrive or schedule an installation appointment. With the new offering, eligible Seattle customers can have an Xfinity Gateway delivered directly to their home on the day they enroll in service. Customers throughout Washington also can choose same-day equipment pickup at more than 40 Xfinity retail stores statewide.

Once the Gateway arrives, customers can install the equipment themselves and activate service through the Xfinity app. The process allows households to connect devices, customize WiFi settings, and begin using their internet service within minutes.

The Gateway is designed to support the growing number of connected devices found in modern homes, including laptops, smartphones, streaming devices, gaming systems, and smart-home technology. It also includes built-in cybersecurity protections and parental controls that can be managed through the Xfinity app.

Customers who subscribe to Xfinity entertainment services can begin streaming content immediately through the Xfinity Stream app once their internet service is activated.

The launch reflects changing consumer expectations for speed and convenience. As services ranging from food delivery to online shopping become available on demand, many consumers expect home internet service to be available just as quickly.

For Seattle residents starting a new job, moving into a new neighborhood, or establishing a new household, same-day internet connectivity can help eliminate one of the common challenges associated with moving.

Same-day Gateway delivery is currently available for eligible new Xfinity Internet customers in Seattle. Comcast plans to expand the offering to additional customers throughout Washington in the future. Residents can check eligibility online or visit a local Xfinity store to learn more about same-day service options.
