"Safety is our top priority and multiple factors were considered, including road conditions," the district said in a social media post. "We also recognize that tomorrow is an early release day and recognize the hardship a 2-hour delay would cause families."
On Tuesday, Seattle schools started on a 2-hour delay, with buses operating along snow routes. The district also canceled athletic activities and after-school events, notifying parents by email shortly before noon. A spokesman for the school district said the three possible snow make-up days, as defined in the collective bargaining agreement, are Jan. 29, June 19 and June 22.
