Seattle-Tacoma Traffic Makes List Of 25 Worst In The World
It's not just the U.S. or North America - traffic in the Seattle-Tacoma area is among the worst on Earth, according to a new list.

SEATTLE, WA - Landslides, avalanches, random bottlenecks, political protests, failing infrastructure, passive-aggressive drivers, rain, snow, boat traffic - there are about 400 reasons why traffic in the Puget Sound region is bad. But according to a new assessment, our traffic is world-class bad.
According to a list of the 1,000 worst places for traffic on Earth, the Seattle-Tacoma area came in No. 23.
Repeat: our traffic is the 23rd worst in the world, just slightly better than Jakarta, Indonesia, a mega-city with a population of 10 million.

The ranking was compiled by Inrix, which collects data on road traffic. According to the company, the average driver will spend nearly a quarter of their time stuck in traffic during peak commuting times. That adds up to about 55 hours per year stuck in traffic, according to the company.
And not only is our traffic bad on Earth, we're ranked No. 11 out of 310 cities in the U.S. Here'are the top 25 worst traffic cities according to Inrix, and how much time the average driver spends in traffic per year:
