Seattle Zoo Offering Animal Poop This Weekend
Enter for the chance to buy a gallon of feces fertilizer this weekend during the annual "Zoo Doo" event.

SEATTLE, WA - What does a zoo do with all that animal doo? Woodland Park Zoo plans to turn it into black or brown gold.
Beginning Sunday, the zoo will open a lottery for its "species feces" fertilizer. The fertilizer is made from the droppings of non-primate animals like mountain goats and giraffes. The stuff has just been piling up all winter, and is the perfect ingredient for your spring garden, according to the zoo.
The Fecal Fests, held each spring and fall, attract local gardeners to enter a bid to purchase the exotic, highly-coveted Zoo Doo and Bedspread that Dr. Doo, aka the “Princess of Poo,” the “GM of BM” or the “Grand Poopah,” has been piling all winter.
You'll be able to enter the poop lottery online starting Sunday. Once winners are drawn, the zoo will offer the fertilizer for sale in 5 to 100 gallon quantities. Bedspread - a combo of animal poop, sawdust, and wood chips - will be available for pickup by the truckload.
