Shooting In Seattle Closes Rainier Avenue: Police
A shooting in the heart of Columbia City Monday night closed Rainier Avenue, according to Seattle police.

SEATTLE, WA - Seattle police closed Rainier Avenue around 8 p.m. Monday after a report of a shooting. The shooting happened in the Columbia City area, according to police, but it's unclear if any people were hit. Rainier Avenue was closed between Ferdinand and Edmunds streets, which is a block in the center of Columibia City's busy commercial district
The shooting broke out around 7 p.m. between two cars driving along Rainier Avenue. Someone driving a green Chrysler opened fire on a Honda. While trying to flee the area, the Honda hit a third car, injuring the driver. The Chrysler fled the scene west toward Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and was last seen driving northbound on MLK.
Rainier Avenue reopened around 8:45 p.m. Monday.
