Significant Earthquake Activity In Puget Sound Region
The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network reported that an earthquake was detected outside of Poulsbo Sunday night.

POULSBO, WA - The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network reported that a magnitude 3.3 earthquake was recorded 23.5 km from Poulsbo Sunday night. The earthquake was detected 52 km below the earth's surface. No other recent earthquake activity in the region has been more than 3 in magnitude, though typically seismologists will downgrade the initial reading.
Numerous minor earthquakes have been recorded in recent weeks, though most of the activity has been in the Mount Rainier National Park area. This earthquake was detected near Dabob Bay and Olympic National Park. Quakes in the magnitude 2 to 3 range are likely too small to feel.
Seismologists have described similar earthquake activity in the region as normal for our area. The PNSN recently wrote about a swarm of quakes in the Entiat area in Eastern Washington.

Since 1975, hundreds of quakes have been recorded in that area, but seismologists don't think the area is primed for a major event.
