Smoke, Heat Return This Week: Puget Sound Forecast

SEATTLE, WA - We'll get a short flashback to early August early this week as temperatures rise toward the 90-degree mark and smoke from regional wildfires moves back into the area. But the heat and smoke won't stick around. Temperatures will return to the mid to upper 70s by the end of the week, and the smoke should clear after Tuesday. (And in case you're curious, there's no rain in sight.)

Here's the local National Weather Service forecast this week for Puget Sound:

Seattle-Bellevue

Monday: Patchy smoke. Sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Monday Night: Patchy smoke before 11pm. Clear, with a low around 61. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 82. Southwest wind 3 to 7 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60. South southwest wind 6 to 11 mph.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 79.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 59.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 76.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 58.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 79.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 58.

Puyallup-Lakewood

Monday: Patchy smoke. Sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming north 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Monday Night: Patchy smoke before 11pm. Clear, with a low around 59. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 56. Southwest wind around 8 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 57.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78.
