Police are investigating after a 21-year-old man was wounded Tuesday evening in a shooting on Roosevelt Way.

Around 8:30 PM, officers responded to the 5000 block of Roosevelt Way Northeast for a report of a shooting. At the scene, officers found a trail of blood leading to a building nearby.

There, police found a bystander providing medical aid to the 21-year-old victim. Medics arrived and transported the man to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

Police learned the gunman had approached the victim on the street, said something to him and opened fire, striking the 21-year-old man in his upper arm.
