Sun, Heat Continue This Week: Puget Sound Forecast

SEATTLE, WA - On Sunday, Seattle tied a 22-year heat record after a high of 96 degrees in the afternoon. And, unless you were sheltered in a movie theater or other air conditioned locale, you definitely felt it. This weekend's heatwave was oppressive, but thankfully the region will cool down this week.

But it won't cool down by much. Temperatures are supposed to stay in the mid-70s or higher this week, and there won't any rain (about a 10 percent chance each day). Here's the week-ahead forecast, according to the National Weather Service:

Seattle-Bellevue

Monday: Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 77. South wind around 8 mph.

Monday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 55. South wind around 7 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. South wind 7 to 9 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 73.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 75.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 55.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 56.

Puyallup-Lakewood

Monday: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 74. South southwest wind 7 to 10 mph.

Monday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 52. West southwest wind around 10 mph.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 73. South wind around 8 mph becoming northwest in the morning.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 72.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 76.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 53.
