Mariners' Safeco Field May Become T-Mobile Field, Report Says
Vote on a new nickname for Safeco Field, which will now carry the T-Mobile brand.

SEATTLE, WA - According to a Forbes Sports report, T-Mobile will get the naming rights for Safeco Field. The Bellevue-based cell phone provider will pay about $6 million per year to have its pink logo across the front of the Mariners home field.
But there's one problem: what do we call this new baseball field?
Safeco has been Safeco since 1999, when the Mariners' post-Kingdome home field opened. We could straight up call it T-Mobile field or T-Mobile park, but that doesn't have a great ring (no pun) to it.

Although Forbes is reporting the new T-Mobile name as a done-deal, the Mariners said Thursday morning that nothing has been approved. The stadium public facilities district would have to approve the name change.
"Until we have a final lease agreement, we won’t be able to have a final agreement with a naming rights partner," Mariners spokeswoman Rebecca Hale told KOMO News.
