Thanksgiving Week Weather: Cold With A Chance Of Precipitation
Early forecasts for the lowlands predict freezing overnight lows, but those hoping for snow may have to dream a little longer.
SEATTLE, WA — One week out from Thanksgiving, the National Weather Service is taking an early look at what may lie ahead for the holiday and weekend. NWS said a high level of uncertainty remains this far in advance, but current forecasts are trending drier than expected by mid-week. Freezing overnight lows are likely by Wednesday in most areas, however dreams of lowland snow being in the cards this month may go unrealized.
According to the Seattle Weather Blog, the last time it snowed in Seattle on Thanksgiving was November 2010.
The last time it snowed on #Thanksgiving in Seattle was nine years ago—at the tail end of the November 2010 arctic blast. Will the final #TurkeyDay of the 2010s be white as well? Probably not, but there is a *small* chance. Greater odds that it’s COLD & dry.

Forecasters said periods of snow are expected in the mountain passes starting this upcoming Sunday and carrying through Tuesday. Pass travel during the early part of the week could see hazardous conditions, due to slick and snow-covered roads. According to NWS, some lingering mountain showers Wednesday morning should give way to drier weather through Friday.
