The deadline for the first round of college applications is coming Nov. 1. Here are the best colleges and universities in Washington.

SEATTLE, WA - Students across Washington and the U.S. will be sending in early-decision college applications by Nov. 1. The personal finance site WalletHub has ranked the 10 best colleges in Washington to help students narrow down their choices.

The colleges were ranked, according to WalletHub, based on 30 different measures, from cost to admission rate to the number of campus arrests. You can see the full methodolgy here. The top 10 colleges and universities in the Washington include:

  1. University of Washington (Seattle)
  2. Whitman College (Walla Walla)
  3. Gonzaga University (Spokane)
  4. Walla Walla University
  5. Pacific Lutheran University (Tacoma)
  6. Seattle University
  7. Washington State University
  8. Western Washington University (Bellingham)
  9. Central Washington University (Ellensburg)
  10. Seattle Pacific University

When ranked against all colleges and universities in the West, UW was tops, coming in No. 16. UW scored 66.63 points overall, putting in a league with schools like SUNY Stony Brook, the University of Georgia, Bryn Mawr, and Ohio State University.

The top schools on the list included MIT, Princeton, and Yale. Evergreen State was the lowest ranked Washington school on the list, coming in at No. 149 overall in the West.
