Threat Of Landslides High: Special Weather Statement
Up to 1-1/2 inches of rain may fall through Monday, putting the entire region at risk for landslides, according to forecasts.

SEATTLE, WA - A special weather statement from the National Weather Service warns of increased landslide risk across all of Puget Sound this week. A serious rainstorm will dump up to 1-1/2 inches across the area through Monday afternoon, which will destabilize already saturated soil.
"Rainfall over the past 2 weeks has increased soil moisture to moderate levels across Western Washington. Additional rainfall of 0.50 to 1.50 inches in the interior with 2 to 4 inches on the coast and mountains is expected on Monday. This amount of rain will put extra pressure on soil instability, leading to an increased threat of landslides," the weather statement reads.
On top of that, rain will persist throughout the week - as will the threat of landslides. Here's the week-ahead forecast from the National Weather Service:

Monday: Rain. High near 52. Breezy, with a south wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 17 to 22 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Monday Night: Rain before 10pm, then showers likely after 10pm. Low around 42. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 22 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Showers likely. Partly sunny, with a high near 47. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 16 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Tuesday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39.
Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 45.
