Trump Job Approval Rating In Washington Among Lowest In U.S.
A new Gallup poll shows President Donald Trump has a 40 percent job approval rating nationwide. It's lower than that in Washington state.

SEATTLE, WA - As we all know, there are a lot of left-leaning voters in Washington state, especially in the Seattle area. So, the results of the new Gallup poll measuring President Donald Trump's job approval in Washington state probably won't shock you, even if you're a Trump fan: the president's job approval rating is about 36 percent here, which is in the bottom 10 among U.S. states.
Just under 60 percent of Washington state residents polled disapprove of the job Trump is doing, On average, Trump's nationwide job approval rating is about 40 percent. Trump's approval rating is above 50 percent in just 17 states.
But back to that point about Washington being a left-leaning state: although it's true the state tends to vote Democratic (a Republican presidential candidate hasn't won Washington since 1984), there are many right-leaning states that don't exactly approve of the job Trump is doing.

In Texas and Florida, two conservative states that went for Trump in 2016, Trump only has a 42 percent job approval rating. In Michigan, which helped swing the election in Trump's favor, 52 percent disapprove of Trump, and 42 percent approve.
At Barack Obama's six-month mark, his approval rating was about 65 percent; and he left office with a 58 percent rating (his low point hit 42 percent in 2015, according to Gallup).

Trump entered office with a 45 percent job approval rating, according to Gallup, which is the lowest of any president dating back to Henry Truman. George W. Bush entered office with a 62 percent approval rating, for example.
The state that dislikes Trump the most? Vermont, where 71 percent disapprove of Trump. West Virginia approves of Trump job performance the most with 60 percent saying the president is doing well.
