Vandals Destroy Menorah In Bergen Place Park

On the second night of Hanukkah, a large menorah was vandalized in Ballard.

SEATTLE, WA - Vandals destroyed a nine-foot menorah in Bergen Place Park Wednesday night, according to KING 5. Chabad of Northwest Seattle had obtained a permit from the city to place the menorah in the park for the eight nights of Hanukkah. The star-shaped menorah was erected Tuesday.

Rabbi Yoni Levitin told KING 5 that the act was "extremely disturbing." Levitin filed a police report regarding the incident.

A public menorah lighting ceremony and celebration is still planned for Sunday.
