Very Windy, Wet Week Ahead For Puget Sound: Forecast

It's going to rain all week, and there's a "very strong" windstorm predicted for Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

SEATTLE, WA - Get ready for a wet, windy week. The National Weather Service forecast shows rain every day, and a special weather statement has been issued for a windstorm on Thursday that could bring damage to the region.

The NWS is warning that the Thursday storm could knock out power, although no river flooding is expected.

A strong frontal system is expected to move through Western Washington Thursday. An associated deep surface low is forecast to track onshore just to the north of the area during the day.
This system will also bring locally heavy rains. River flooding is not forecast for now but sharp rises on rivers are likely.
Be prepared for the potential for strong winds Thursday. Local power outages are possible. High profile vehicles may also be adversely impacted.

Tuesday Night: A chance of showers before 5am, then rain likely after 5am. Cloudy, with a low around 39. South southwest wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Wednesday: Rain likely, mainly before 11am. Cloudy, with a high near 46. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Wednesday Night: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 42. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
