Tell Us: What's Your 'ViaDoom' Plan?
The Alaskan Way Viaduct closes forever Friday. Take our survey and tell us how you're going to handle ViaDoom.

SEATTLE, WA - We're down to the wire. ViaDoom begins today, and if you haven't figured out how you're going to deal with it, better get cracking.
The Alaskan Way Viaduct closes for good at 10 p.m. Friday. That's also the beginning of a three-week closure of SR 99 between the West Seattle Bridge and the south end of the Battery Street Tunnel.
Even if you don't use SR 99, deleting one of the three main north-south routes (along with I-5 and I-405) through the region will seriously stress transportation systems across Puget Sound. In addition to adding new transportation options, local leaders are urging commuters to form a plan to deal with ViaDoom - perhaps working at home, or changing hours so you miss the heaviest commute volumes.
