Video Shows Suspects Fleeing After South Seattle Home Invasion
A 71-year-old woman was shot during the afternoon incident in the Rainier View neighborhood.
SEATTLE, WA - Seattle police released a surveillance video Wednesday showing three suspects believed to be behind violent home invasion that left an elderly woman with a gunshot wound. The home invasion took place Tuesday afternoon at a home along Renton Avenue South in the Rainier View neighborhood.
Around 4 p.m. Tuesday, two men approached a man gardening in front of his home along the 10070 block of Renton Avenue South. The two men forced the homeowner inside. A scuffle broke out, and the homeowner's 71-year-old wife ended up getting shot in the shoulder.
Witnesses said two suspects fled the scene south toward the Skyway area. The video released Wednesday by police shows a red sedan in the area of where the home invasion occurred. Police believe the driver was associated with the two robbers.

The woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment, and she remained in the hospital Wednesday.
The violent home invasion is one of a series in the area. Last October, a 74-year-old woman was pistol whipped when three men broke into her home in Skyway in the middle of the day.
