Vote: What Should Seattle NHL Team Be Named?
National Hockey League Commissioner Gary Bettman gave the thumbs up to a Seattle hockey team on Tuesday.

SEATTLE, WA - National Hockey League Commissioner Gary Bettman and the league's executive committee gave the go-ahead for a Seattle team on Tuesday, indicating smooth sailing for final approval from the NHL Board of Governors in December. If all goes as planned, Seattle could put a team on the ice as soon as 2020.
But there's one vexing issue that's not settled: What should the Seattle NHL team name be?
There have been plenty of suggestions. The Seattle Freeze seems to be popular, a reference to the chilly on-ice conditions and the region's weird social anxiety phenomenon. There's the Seattle Kraken, Seattle Thunder, Seattle Emerald, and the Seattle Tsunami (an event that happens only every few hundred years, so the name might be bad luck for championship wins).
