Weekend Traffic Report: Lane Closures, Kenny Chesney, Baseball
See the events and construction projects that will affect your travel around Puget Sound this weekend.

SEATTLE, WA - It's another summer weekend in Puget Sound, and that means construction, baseball, and other large events. The weekend of July 6 doesn't look so bad (and Pierce County gets off easy this weekend, except for the usual Tacoma slog), but there are still a number of issues you should be aware of.
Here's what's going on traffic-wise this weekend, according to WSDOT:
Construction and closures

- There will be lane reductions along I-90 eastbound and westbound all weekend. Eastbound lane closures span North Bend to Snoqualmie Pass. The westbound lanes will reduce between Denny Creek and Snoqualmie Pass.
- SR 522 between Paradise Lake Road and the Snohomish River Bridge will be closed overnight each day this weekend for construction work - but the closures are weather-dependent.
- The I-5 Ship Canal Bridge southbound will go down to two lanes from 2 to 10 a.m. Sunday. The 45th Street on-ramp to I-5 will close during that time.
Big weekend events
- Mariners: games start 7:10 p.m. Friday and 1:10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
- Seattle Reign: facing Houston on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium near the Seattle Center.
- Seattle Storm: facing off against the Washington Mystics Sunday at 4 p.m. at KeyArena.
- Kenny Chesney plays CenturyLink Saturday, show starts at 5 p.m.
- Harry Styles plays KeyArena Saturday, show starts at 8 p.m.
- Seattle Food Fest happens Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. along 9th Avenue in South Lake Union.
