Westbound SR 520 Reopens After Crash, Car Fire
A car fire fully blocked the westbound lanes of the floating bridge Wednesday morning.

SEATTLE — A car fire on the State Route 520 bridge brought westbound traffic to a halt over Lake Washington for more than an hour Wednesday morning. According to Washington State Patrol, the incident began with a crash involving three vehicles on the mid-span of the floating bridge, including one that caught fire.
The Washington State Department of Transportation closed all westbound lanes to allow fire crews access to the scene at 10 a.m., and the closure remained in place for just under an hour. In an update shared on social media, WSDOT said crews fully cleared the scene and traffic was flowing as normal shortly before 11 a.m.
