Want to track Santa Claus and his reindeer as they shuttle across the world dropping off gifts to children everywhere? The 50-plus year tradition continues tonight with the NORAD Santa Tracker.
The tradition began in 1955 after a Sears & Roebuck catalog printed an advertisement asking kids to call Santa Claus - but they accidentally printed the number for NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command). The director there, Col. Harry Shoup, played along, and kids who called the base got live Santa updates. Watch the NORAD Santa Tracker here:
