Wind Advisory Issued For Puget Sound Until Friday Night

The National Weather Service issued the advisory beginning at 1 p.m. Friday.

SEATTLE, WA - Almost 12 years ago today, Puget Sound experienced one of the most destructive winter storms in recent memory. Friday's storm will likely not be as bad as the Dec. 15, 2006 storm - but things could get hairy.

Forecasts as late as Thursday night had predicated 60 MPH winds for the Seattle metro area, a figure that has thankfully been downgraded.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for the Seattle-Bellevue beginning at 1 p.m. Friday warning of high winds and plenty of rain. The most up-to-date forecasts indicate we'll get southerly winds between 20 and 35 MPH, and gusts up to 45 MPH.
