Winter Storm Watch Issued For Seattle-Bellevue Area

The latest forecast now calls for up to 8 inches to fall during an approaching snowstorm. But other areas might see up to 12 inches.

SEATTLE, WA - The National Weather Service in Seattle issued a winter storm watch Thursday morning for the entire Puget Sound region - from Everett on down to Tacoma.

A new twist in the weather scenario: the NWS is now calling for high winds during the storm.

"Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches possible. There remains some uncertainty in the details as a few areas could see a foot of snow while a few other locations may only see 2-4 inches. Windy conditions will develop late Friday night into Saturday with north winds 20 to 35 mph. Temperatures late Friday night through Saturday will fall through the 20s," the storm watch says.
