Woman Hoses Insolent Dumper At West Seattle P-Patch
A woman asked a man dumping leaves in the P-Patch to stop. He ignored her and walked away. That's when she grabbed a hose.
SEATTLE, WA — A quintessentially-Seattle confrontation happened this week at a Delridge-area P-Patch when a woman and a man got into a fracas over leaves being dumped in the neighborhood garden.
The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Delridge P-Patch Community Gardens along 25th Avenue Southwest. The woman was working in the garden when she watched as the man hauled a tarp of leaves over and dumped them in the P-Patch. She confronted the dumper and asked him to stop.
He said nothing, and turned and walked away from the woman, Seattle police said. Then, he came back with another load of leaves.

The woman sprayed the man with a hose, wetting his shorts. He approached the woman, apparently to grab the hose from her, and then she tripped and fell backward.
The man told police there was no sign about illegal dumping in the P-Patch, so he thought he could do it.

“I would say it’s frowned upon,” a Department of Neighborhoods spokeswoman told SPD about P-Patch dumping. “While we can’t condone spraying your neighbor, you should just use your own compost bin.”
