Woman Injured In Accident With Seattle Ride The Ducks Vehicle

A 65-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after a collision with a Ride the Ducks vehicle in Seattle Sunday afternoon.

SEATTLE, WA - A Ride The Ducks boat was involved in an accident with a passenger vehicle in Seattle on Sunday afternoon, according to the Seattle Fire Department.

The department reported that a 65-year-old woman sustained a hand injury in the accident. KIRO 7 reported that the Ride the Ducks vehicle into a Kia.

The accident happened along the 1200 block of Westlake Avenue North, the fire department said, which is just north of Lake Union Park.

In September 2015, a Ride the Ducks amphibious vehicle experienced an apparent axle failure as it was driving northbound across the Aurora Bridge. The vehicle veered into the southbound lanes and struck a tour bus full of international college students. Five people died and 69 were injured.

The U.S. Transportation Department in December announced it would fine Ride the Ducks International LLC, which supplies boats to Seattle's Ride the Duck tour company, $1 million over the accident.
