2 Hurt In Snow-Related Roof Collapse In Shoreline

The roof collapse happened Monday night as wet snow and rain dumped on the region.

SHORELINE, WA - Two people were hurt Monday night in Shoreline when a roof covered in snow collapsed on them. The incident happened as a rain-snow mix fell on the region, causing existing snow to become even heavier.

The collapse happened around 8:30 p.m. in a detached building near the intersection of 145th and 15th Ave Northeast.

The two people under the roof were trapped, according to Shoreline fire. Firefighters freed them and took them to a hospital for treatment.

Officials are warning Puget Sound residents to be careful because wet snow is putting stress on tree branches, power lines, and roofs.
