📰 News we're reading

• KCRHA Transition Update: Building the Next Phase of the Regional Homelessness Response (kcrha.org) — Shoreline's relationship with the King County Regional Homelessness Authority is shifting as KCRHA stops managing locally funded service contracts and ends its interlocal agreement with North King County cities. Shoreline will take back direct control of its homelessness investments while still relying on KCRHA for countywide systems like data, coordinated entry, and severe-weather coordination.

• 148th Non-Motorized Bridge span update (shorelineareanews.com) — Construction of the 148th Street Non-Motorized Bridge in Shoreline is progressing, with crews assembling the span along I-5 before placing it on its piers later this fall. Once complete, the bridge will link the 148th Trail directly to the Shoreline South Transit Station, giving walkers, cyclists, and people using mobility devices a safer alternative to the busy double roundabouts. Residents can follow project updates online as work continues.

• IEUM Korean School Opens to Serve Local Community (shorelineareanews.com) — A new Korean language and culture school has opened on Firlands Way in Shoreline, offering classes for children through adults right in your neighborhood. IEUM Korean School aims to connect generations and cultures through language, arts, history, and holiday traditions. Enrollment for the upcoming term is open now, and Shoreline families can learn more or register online or by email.
