Clarinettissimo - the Northwest's premier Clarinet Festival at Shoreline College October 3-4, 2026 (shorelineareanews.com) β A major free clarinet festival is coming to Shoreline Community College on October 3β4, running from noon to 9:30 p.m. both days with concerts, master classes, workshops, and a big clarinet choir. Local players of all ages can hear top performers, try instruments and accessories from many vendors, and even join fun activities like the Clarinet Olympics, all without an admission fee.

Community Cider Crush October 11, 2026 (shorelineareanews.com) β Neighbors in Shoreline's North City area are invited to a free Community Cider Crush on Sunday, October 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at North City Commons. Organizers need volunteers with apple trees, access to apples, or time to help pick fruit so everyone can press, pasteurize, and take home fresh local cider together.

3. Flu and COVID Vaccine Clinics Scheduled - Pre-Register for Your Appointment (lfptowncrier.com) β Several flu and COVID vaccination clinics are scheduled at Shoreline schools and the Shoreline Center this October and early November, open to students, staff, families, and community members. Residents must pre-register each person, provide insurance details if covered, and can receive updated flu and Moderna COVID shots for eligible ages, with records entered into the state system.

4. Strike averted as Shoreline school staff reach agreement with district (theolympian.com) β Shoreline school support staff have reached a tentative agreement with the district, avoiding a strike that would have closed schools starting Monday. More than 300 paraeducators, health and technical staff, security guards and secretaries will report as normal while details of the deal are finalized, following negotiations that began in April and nearly went to the wire this weekend.

5. 150 people honor Echo Aumick as she retires from the Senior Center (shorelineareanews.com) β Shoreline's Senior Center community recently gathered to honor longtime footcare specialist Echo Aumick as she retired after 25 years of service. More than 150 clients stopped by the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Senior Center to share memories, cake, and gifts, while leaders now work to fill her position and continue vital footcare services for local seniors.
