Are Fireworks Legal In Shoreline Or Lake Forest Park? Fines Await Scofflaws In Local Cities
Laws banning fireworks vary from city to city in Western Washington. See where it's legal to have fireworks this year.

SHORELINE, WA - Maybe you want to head to the Seattle Center on July 4, or maybe you'd rather stay home and put on your own show in your backyard. The difference - aside from the parking situation - is that one of those activities might be illegal. Laws banning fireworks vary from city to city in King County. And disobeying those laws can get to a steep fine - up to $5,000 in Seattle, for example.
Here are the rules by city in King County:
Bellevue - Sale and use of fireworks is banned citywide.

Clyde Hill - Sale and use of fireworks is banned citywide.
Enumclaw - Sales are restricted to: June 28, noon to 11 p.m.; July 29 - July 3, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and July 4 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Discharge of fireworks is only allowed on July 4 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Issaquah - Sale and use of fireworks is banned citywide.
King County - In unincorporated parts of King County (Skyway, for example), fireworks sales are allowed from on June 28 from noon to 11 p.m.; June 29 to July 4 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Discharge allowed on July 4 from 9 a.m. to midnight.
Kirkland - Sale and use of fireworks is banned citywide.
Lake Forest Park - Sale and use of fireworks is banned citywide.
Medina - Sale and use of fireworks is banned citywide.
Mercer Island - Sales are restricted to: June 28 noon to 9 p.m.; June 29 to July 4, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Discharge is allowed between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. on July 4.
Redmond - Sale and use of fireworks is banned citywide.
Renton - The city banned fireworks in 2005, no exceptions - even for July 4. Fines range from $100 to $500.
Sammamish - Sale and use of fireworks is banned citywide. Fines for discharging or possessing fireworks range from $500 to $1,000.
Seattle - Sale and use of fireworks is banned citywide (since 1993). Up to a $5,000 fine.
Shoreline - Sale and use of fireworks is banned citywide. There's a $50 fine for possessing fireworks, but discharging fireworks is classified as a gross misdemeanor.
Woodinville - Sale and use of fireworks is banned citywide.
