Bonney Lake Man Reels in a Big Win

Washington's Lottery

A Bonney Lake man was holding onto a winning $50,000 “Casino Gold” Scratch ticket for several hours before realizing its worth. He purchased the ticket from a local Qwik Mart (21406 State Route 410 E), and scratched it on the night of June 6 when he returned home.

“I picked up the ticket earlier that day, and waited to scratch it until I was at home with my wife,” the man shared. “When I saw 15, the winning number, I didn’t even believe it. I told my wife and she didn’t believe it either. All she could say was, ‘Knock your socks off!’”

The winner was most excited to use some of the money toward family activities. “I take my grandson salmon fishing every summer in Westport. Last year, he said he wanted to learn how to tuna fish – I want to use some of the money to teach him!”

The man said he purchased the ticket on a whim, and was very thankful he won. “The Lord was good to me. I also want to use some of the money to fix up our house. Other than that, we’ll see!”

There are two top prizes remaining for “Casino Gold” Scratch tickets, each worth $50,000.
