Congratulations to the City of Shoreline, Leader in Pesticide Reduction

Winner of the prestigious King County Green Globe Award for Pesticide Use Reduction.

Shoreline has been a leader in King County in their pesticide-use reduction efforts for more than a decade, implementing policies and offering public education to achieve the goals of responsible stewardship of park land, private property and open space within the city.

In 2002, they committed to managing park property in a pesticide-free manner.  All Shoreline parks are listed on the Pesticide-Free Places map.

The city has also encouraged homeowners to reduce pesticide use by providing Pesticide Free Zone signs and providing educational materials on natural yard care. Take a pledge and get your own sign!
