SCC Baseballs Drops Two Games To Everett CC On Saturday:

The Shoreline Community College Baseball Team dropped two games to the #2 Ranked Everett Community College Trojans on Saturday at Everett Stadium by the scores of 2-0, 8-6.

In Game 1, SCC ace Jason Shaw pitched well, allowing only 2 earned runs in 6 innings, but EVCC pitcher Greg Swanson pitched better, allowing just 4 hits with 5 strikeouts. SCC 2nd baseball, Beau Vintertun had a double for the Dolphins, but SCC could only muster 3 other singles on the day.

In Game 2, both offenses game alive and the game swung back and forth. EVCC lead 4-1 after three innings, but SCC came back to take 6-4 lead after 5 innings. The Trojans put up 4 runs in the bottom of 6th to the lead 8-6 and held to win from there. Kainoai Ahsing-Kanhanui hit his first homerun of the season plus a double for SCC and had 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored to lead SCC batting. Luke Merkel and Danny Cavanaugh both had 2 hits as well with Cavanaugh adding another double. Nick Van Der Ven took the loss for SCC.

SCC is now 12-7-1 on the season and 0-2 in the NWAACC Northern Region. EVCC moved to 17-5 on the season and 5-1 in the league. Both teams play again today at Meridian Park in Shoreline, WA at 3:00pm, weather permitting.
