Celebrate Shoreline Event Winners
Congratulations to the winners in the parade, car show, and sand castle contests at Celebrate Shoreline Aug. 20, 2011
Last weekend’s Celebrate Shoreline events had a good turnout in the beautiful weather.
The parade attracted 70 participating groups or organizations, and the winners of the 2011 Celebrate Shoreline Parade were the following: Best Band, NW Junior Pipe Band; Best Drill Team, Ballard Eagles Drill Team; Best Float, Youth for Human Rights; Best Neighborhood/Community Entry, Dale Turner YMCA; Best Specialty/Novelty Entry, Master Cho Taekwondo Martial Arts; Best Vehicle, Shoreline Water District; Best of Parade, Shoreline Community College and Shoreline School District.
Meanwhile, the annual car show drew 68 entries in 20 categories. The best in show winner was Shoreline resident and CPA Don Bell. Bell was entered in the special interest category with his 1965 Kirkham Cobra 427 street/competition model. The car has an all-aluminum body built in Poland.

At the Richmond Beach Sand Castle Contest, the the grand prize winner was an elaborately detailed sand dragon built by Team Owen. In second and third place, respectively, were Team Hamilton with the “Family castle” and Team Sandy Sand with the “Sand troll.”
