Colacurcio's Lake City Properties To Be Sold At Auction

Two properties in the Lake City neighborhood of Seattle will be auctioned on June 29, 2011, following the dismantling of the Colacurcio organized criminal enterprise. 

The site of the former Rick’s strip club will be sold at auction and so will the former home of Talents West at 8600 Lake City Way.  The late Frank Colacurcio, Sr. and his son Frank Colacurcio, Jr., of Lake Forest Park and their associates ran their strip club businesses out of Talents West for decades.  Both properties will be available for preview by interested buyers on June 15 and June 22, 2011, between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Anyone interested in bidding on the properties has to register, and have a check on file for an initial deposit on the purchase price.  For the Rick’s property the check must be for $100,000; for Talents West the amount is $50,000.

The assets of the Colacurcio organization were frozen by the government in June 2008, following a two year investigation.  Members of the conspiracy were indicted for RICO conspiracy in June 2009.  The members of the conspiracy permitted prostitution at the clubs and failed to stop prostitution when it was reported to them. 

In April 2010, the first group of defendants, all Colacurcio associates, entered guilty pleas and the strip club properties were closed.  The strip clubs run by this organization included Rick’s in Seattle, Fox’s in Parkland, Pierce County, Honey’s in Everett and Sugar’s in Shoreline.  In September 2010, Frank Colacurcio, Jr. agreed to forfeit $1.3 million in cash, all interest in the strip clubs and the Talents West property.  All claims for the properties have been resolved making them eligible for sale. 

All proceeds of the sales will be deposited into the Department of Justice Assets Forfeiture Fund.  Proceeds will be used for future payments to benefit local law enforcement agencies which assisted in this investigation, as well as disbursements to fund training and initiatives for local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.  Additionally, these funds will be used for continued support of the Department of Justice Asset Forfeiture Program. 

Those who want to register for the auction can do so in advance atwww.LPSAuctions.com.  It will also be possible to register the day of the auction.  The winning bidder must be prepared to move forward with a cash sale, with no contingencies including any contingencies on financing.  The deal must close within 30 days of the auction.  If the sale does not close in 30 days, the bidder loses their earnest money deposit.
